The Special Branch in Police Head Quarters is headed by an officer of the rank of
Addl. D.G. of Police, assisted by one I.G. of Police, Four Dy.Is.G. of Police and
other supporting officers and staff.

Function
|
|
The Special Branch deals with collection, collation, analysis and dissemination
of intelligence on political, communal labor, student, service, agrarian, disaster,
terrorism, Left Wing Extremism, NGOs matters in order to provide backup support
to the field officers in handling Law & Order situations.
Special Branch also looks after all types of security related issues including VIP,
VIP Security Security of Vital installations, Airport Security etc.
The Special Branch verifies the reports about the Character and antecedents of Central
and State Govt. employees, employees of public sector undertakings, local bodies
and other public servants. However we do not verify antecedents & Character of employee
of private organizations or individuals. The Special Branch also monitors verifications
of tenants and domestic servants through the concerned district Supdt. of Police.

- You are welcome to pass on any information to our NODAL OFFICER about any person
/ organization / group which comes to your adverse notice in matters mentioned in
the paragraph relating to Special Branch functions.
- We would welcome any information which may be helpful to us in controlling communal
disturbances, law & order problems, organized crime, terrorism, corruption / economic
irregularities affecting internal security and public order, illicit arms racket,
mafia activities and Narco terrorism etc.
- We would also welcome information on any abandoned object which looks like a bomb
or improvised explosive device.
- If you come across any foreigner staying in your vicinity or otherwise, and, you
feel that his movements and activities are suspicious, please get in touch with
our NODAL OFFICER or the concerned District Supdt. of Police.
- Information given will be kept secret and your may give the information without
disclosing your identity. We are not interested in your identity but the usefulness
of information.

Character - Verification
|
|
Character Verification of all newly recruited employees of State Government as well
as Central Government employees is done by Madhya Pradesh Police. It is observed
that candidates hide the information about themselves in the column No. 12 of the
Character verification form, which leads to their disqualification from government
services. During verification process, all information regarding a candidate should
come to notice Candidates generally get disqualified on the basis of concealment
in column 12 of the form. Involvement in preventive actions such as under section
107, 108, 109, 110 CrPC do not render any body disqualified from government services.
Further each cases is decided on its merits. Therefore, one should never conceal
any information.

Left Wing extremism:
|
|
Overt activities of peoples war group (P.W.G.) of Andhra Pradesh have been witnessed
in Balaghat, Mandla, and Dindori districts of Madhya Pradesh since 1990. Presently,
three armed dalams and One Special Guerrilla Squad are active in these districts,
Govt. of Madhya Pradesh has declared cash reward on following Naxalites:
